Enjoy! for Crafty Sentiments

Happy Saturday, everyone! I'm so happy it's the weekend!  I'm posting today for the Crafty Sentiments Inspirations Blog, where I'm guest designing for the next 6 months. It's been very cold where I live, so I'm craving spring.  Coloring this card brought a bit of spring into my craft room...
This Crafty Sentiments image is called "Tulips".  I colored it with Copic markers. I almost always choose my papers before I color.  These are My Mind's Eye Nostalgia.
This card is an A2 size card.  I used Kraft card stock for the base. I used burlap ribbon to give the card a more masculine feel.  It is from Close To My Heart.  The bling is from my stash. I used a Spellbinder label die to cut out the image.
Check out the Crafty Sentiments Inspirations Blog each day. This team has tons of great ideas, tutorials, and beauty for you.

Eating Again?!? for QKR Stampede

It's Friday, and time for a new challenge at QKR Stampede. Our challenge theme this week is "circles".  I have to tell you, the idea for my card today was scrap lifted directly from Nana Connie.  You can find her refrigerator magnet HERE.
Here's my take on her idea:

This adorable image is "snacking" (digi24204). QKR Stampede has the cutest images! I colored this hungry mouse with Copic markers, then used Lifestyle Crafts circle dies to construct the card. The designer papers are from Close To My Heart.  The tie dye crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  I computer generated the sentiment.
Now, the question is, who to send this to that won't be offended?  Hmm.  I better be careful with this one!
Please join us this week at QKR Stampede for our Circle Challenge.  I LOVE circles!

Be Bold! for The East Wind

It's Friday, and there is a new release at The East Wind.  Unky LeStrange draws the most fantastic images!  I am challenged to the limits of my abilities and beyond every time I tackle one of these, but I feel like I grow each time.  Today, I present to you, Lucy Loo 'Lucy':

I colored Lucy Loo 'Lucy' with Copic markers, then used 2 sizes of Spellbinders dis to cut her out.  She is mounted on Close To My Heart papers from the Paper Fundamentals collection. The sentiment is a Unity Stamp Co., /Donna Downey stamp, "Art & Possibility".  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The beautiful olive green twine is, of course, Timeless Twine.
Check out TheEastWind Facebook group for more inspiration on this fantastic new release, and, of course, The East Wind Etsy Shop for all the fantastic digis available.

Layer it UP! for 3 Girl JAM

It's Thursday, and I have the privilege of posting today for 3 Girl JAM.  I love any opportunity to showcase my favorite ribbons and lace!
Today's card is soft, pretty, and layered with lace and ribbon.
The image on this card is from Aurora Wings.  I love coloring roses, and this one was a joy.  The designer papers used on this card are "Always and Forever" 6x6 papers from Wild Rose Studio.
I used 2 different laces from the Distressed Lace Bundle.  The crinkle ribbon is from the Tie Dye Bundle.  A little lace and ribbon make this card look so feminine.

Wishing You Blue Skies - for SDS

It's Wednesday, and I'm posting today for Snapdragon Snippets.  We've had some really cold weather lately, but one thing about cold weather -- the sun shines, and the sky is the prettiest blue of the whole year.  Those blue skies were the inspiration behind today's project...

This Heart Air Balloon cutting file can be found in the Snapdragon Snippets Store.  I sized it to fit on the front of a 5x 6 1/2 card front.
Designer papers are My Mind's Eye Love Me Do, 12x12.  I purchased them for the cloud background paper.  I have this "thing" for cloud paper.  I can't get enough of it.  The sentiment is a stamp from Joy's Life Stamps. The bling and glitter trim are from Close To My Heart.
Visit the blog often for more great inspiration.  The Snapdragon Snippets Store is adding new great designs all the time. Don't forget the Snapdragon Snippets Facebook Page and the Snapdragon Snippets Creative Garden Facebook Fan Page.

Just Because -- GD for The Sisterhood of Crafters

This is my second and final post guest designing for The Sisterhood of Crafters.   I have enjoyed my experience very much!
The theme this time is paper piecing &/or piercing.  My card has a bit of both:
The image is a digi from Sandi's Samples. It was printed 3 times.  The base was colored with Copic markers.  Two of the layers were fussy cut, then glued on to the base.  Paper piecing achieved!  The paper piercing around the edges was done with dies by Lawn Fawn.
The papers on this card and the sentiment are from Close To My Heart.  The tie dye crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM. The butterfly was cut out with a die from Cheery Lynn.
I'd like to thank Darlene Pavlick and the rest of the Sisterhood of Crafters design team for the opportunity to be a Step Sister this month.  It's been great fun!

I made this card using a variety of sizes of circle dies, and one fancy circle die for the largest size.
I colored "Sammy - Thank You" with Copic markers.  I generally pick my papers first (these are Snowhaven Papers from Close To My Heart). The sentiment is from Newton's Nook.  The crinkle ribbon is by 3 Girl JAM.

Easter Taggin' for Timeless Twine

It's Tag it Tuesday on the Timeless Twine blog and I decided to get a jump start on my Easter cards.  I always make and give away a few for the holiday, so I might as well get started!

Metallic Silver Lace Doilies

The image, by Gerda Steiner, was colored with Copic markers.  I had the chipboard glasses from a Simon Says Stamp card kit.  I thought they added the perfect "nerdy" look to the rabbit.  This bunny is part of the GSD progressive challenge. This is the second month of the challenge, and the second month I have played along. I am also entering this in a chance to be a guest designer, as I LOVE Gerda Steiner images!
Papers on this card are from Close To My Heart

I colored Chante with Copic markers, then cut her out with a Spellbinders label die in 2 sizes.  While she was still in the die, I dabbed several colors of Tim Holtz distress ink around the edges.  The sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company.  It is also cut with a Spellbinder die. Designer Papers used are American Crafts Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic, and I Love SCRAP Vivid 05. The corrugated silver paper is from American Crafts. The die cut flower trim is by 3 Girl JAM, and so is the Baby Pink crinkle ribbon. The paper flowers, by Reminisce, started out white.  I inked them with the same Tim Holtz inks I used around the edges of the image. All bling is from Close To My Heart

Heart Boxes, Ribbon and Flair -- for 3 Girl JAM

It's Thursday, and since it's so close to Valentine's Day, I wanted something with a heart theme for my 3 Girl JAM post.  I found these heart shaped boxes in the Silhouette Design Store that I thought would work just fine:

I used papers from Echo Park, then needed a bit of embellishing.  That is, of course, where 3 Girl JAM shines! I used both the Merlot and London Blue ribbon from the Wine and Jewels Bundle on these boxes.
Here's the Merlot ribbon and Love Flair:

Love Struck -- for The East Wind

There's a New Release today, Tuesday, at The East Wind.  This one,  called "Yogibunny 'Savasana'" makes me giggle.

Since it was so close to Valentine's Day, I thought Yogibunny looked a bit love struck, so that's the direction I went.  Here's a close up of YogiBunny Savasana on his bed of 3 Girl JAM ribbon.  He was colored with Copic markers:

The card front is made with my Silhouette Cameo and a cutting file from The Cutting Cafe. It's the Valentine Window Card Tops Cutting File. The sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Co.

He's all heart, isn't he? Well, heart, beard, and a pretty big nose.  But, so cute!   Gnomeo was colored with Copic markers, then cut with a Spellbinder die.  Since it's soon Valentine's Day, and I'm in need of some boxes for chocolates for friends, I placed Gnomeo on this popcorn box that I cut out on my Cricut Expression 2. It is  found on the Close To My Heart Cricut Artiste Cartridge. There's some Timeless Twine baker's twine wrapped around it to finish it off.

The Rose -- for QKR Stampede

It's Friday, and time for a new challenge at QKR Stampede. Our theme this week is "Anything But a Card."  Fun!  I love a good challenge!
I've been trying to expand the colors I use with Copic markers, instead of going to my tried and true colors.  I tried some new-to-me colors on this:

This QKR Stampede digi stamp is called, "The Rose" (digi24182). The sentiment was computer generated.
Here's a close up of the image:

I Ruff You! for The Cutting Cafe and FWF

It's Friday! It's Friday!  And, I have a very special card to share today.  Do any of you other pet lovers make cards for your pets to give to your spouses?  That's what I did for today's post.
At The Cutting Cafe, our assignment this time was anything with a Valentine's Day theme.  Regina has MANY files to choose from.  You can begin looking HERE.
I used a Valentine Window Card Tops set, and created this:

Sophie, my Golden Retriever, will be giving this card to my husband on Valentine's Day.  He really is her favorite person.  She tells him in many different ways that she "ruffs" him.
The Golden Retriever is a stamp by one of my favorite artists -- Phyllis Harris.  It is co-branded by Unity Stamp Company. The dog is part of the set, "Brandy & Emma, Forever Friends."  In this case, though, it's "Sophie & Shaun, forever friends."  I colored the pooch with Copic markers, trying to make her the same color as our Sophie.
The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM. The Flair button and heart bling are from Close To My Heart.  The sentiment was computer generated.
I hope my husband likes his card.  Sophie worked hard on this one, snoring softly beside me the whole time I made it!

A Valentine Rose -- for IDCB

It's Wednesday, and time for a new challenge at Inspiration Destination Challenge Blog (IDCB). One of our sponsors this week is Doodle Pantry.  I love their images, papers, and sense of humor!  However, I went serious with this one.

This Doodle Pantry image is called "Rose Bloom". I comes in an uncolored and percolated version.  I chose the uncolored, then colored it with Copic markers, trying out some new, for me, shades of greens and pinks.
The sentiment is a stamps from Simon Says Stamp.
I used Lawn Fawn stitched dies on this, and papers by Piggy Tales -- Hickory Dickory Dock, 12x12.  The ribbon is from the same collection.  The bling is from My Mind's Eye. The card base is Pixie card stock from Close To My Heart

You and Me -- a Tutorial for Crafty Sentiments

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I have a tutorial for you all today.  I'm guest designing for the next 6 months (yes, SIX!) for the Crafty Sentiments Inspirational Blog. This is my first post, and my first tutorial.  I'm showing you how to take ordinary white ribbon and make it extraordinary!

But first, your image.  I loved this Crafty Sentiments rubber stamp  from the 2014 Romance Collection called "You've Got Heart."
Here's the stamped, uncolored image

I generally color my images with the papers that I want to use in front of me, like this. I colored this image with Copic Markers. These papers are from Close To My Heart.

That way, I know everything will match when I'm finished.
Now, for the ribbon fun.
Cut a piece of white ribbon.  I used 1/4 inch May Arts silk, but any white ribbon will work. My ribbon is about 14 inches long.  Then, pick out inks that match your papers.  You can see, I'm using 3 shades of Tim Holtz Distress Ink here, but other inks work also.  I've got sponge daubers, but I've used makeup sponges, too.

Now, for the fun.  Dab ink on the ribbon, covering it completely, alternating colors about every inch or so. Here's the ribbon, partly done.

Once your ribbon is done, it's time to assemble your card.  I used a couple of dies from Lawn Fawn on this, but a paper trimmer would achieve the same effect.
Here's all my supplies, including the sentiment -- cut out from the edge of a 12x12 piece of paper.

And, once again, the finished card.  Notice the inked ribbon running length-wise, and tied in a bow.  Isn't it a neat affect?

Now, wasn't that easy?  OK, get going!  And, once you get your own pretty ribbon made, don't forget to enter it in the Crafty Sentiments Challenge. Make the Crafty Sentiments Inspirational Blog a part of your regular routine.  There's tons of great inspiration there! Don't forget the Crafty Sentiments Facebook Page for even more fun and inspiration.
